I was wondering if you take a non electrolyte capacitor rated .1 mfd at 400 volts pass 125 volts AC through it to a full wave bridge 1 amp rating hook the output to a 12 volt car battery will this act like a trickle battery charger I could build this fairly fast and test the voltage of the battery if it goes up past 15 volts, but thought I would post this idea first?

you can't charge a car battery that fast. the water would boil inside it. You need to charge it with a low current, 20-50watts at a time.
