from Winstips:
(1) This Is A 6 Lamp Display & The Transformers Have A History Of Opening On The Secondary. This One Turned Out To Be One Of The Transformers.
(2) Inverter Boards From Emerson (Funai) 1fsa10164 Are $32.18 And New Transformers Ltz2pcoms008 From Emerson Are Only $4.35.

(3) Mut (Backlight) Board, P/N# 1fsa10280 Fixed The Problem.
For The Lc320e8a,
Digital Board Is 1esa14492,
Mps (Main Power Board) Is 1esa14489
Mut (Backlight) Board Is 1fsa10280.

EMERSON EWL20S5B
Pix Plays For About 6 Seconds Then Goes Dim For 1 Sec, Then Both Sound And Pix Shutsdown.

Made by Funai. You very well may have a common bad cap (large brown mylar - not an electrolytic) on the p/n# 1ESA12650 ballast board. (entire board available from Sears) Seen this same problem on the Sylvania LCD TV made by Funai too!! Symptom was shuts off after about 5 min. But my set shutoff faster when warmed up, played for 6-15 secs and then picture would dim for 1 sec and then tv shutoff. ALWAYS Check for bad C330, C350 or C370 on the inverter board!! 683J@250v 683J@250v or 0.068uf @ 250v.

C370 measured 47 pf and was bad on my set. Took a good cap off another same inverter board and this FIXED the set!!
Another Tech on T/A said: You can tell which cap is bad with an O'scope during the short period that the inverter runs. The good caps are running at 50KHz. The bad caps are running at like 500KHz. Some of those caps were bad right out of the box!
(800) 344-4539 Digikey p/n E4683-ND .068uf @ 400v is perfect replacement size part, looks exactly like the original w/ higher voltage.

Check all of the Inverter Transformers. You will find
one or more open. We have fixed about 20 or so of
these sets.

How did you check the transformers? I was able to test the continuity of the primary winding, I think, but can't find the contact for the secondary.

Any help would be appreciated.

Follow the bulb connector foils back to the secondary of the transformer.

LC32OEM8 inverter transformer appeared to be the problem with mine, but when I checked individual transformers they all worked.Turned out to be short in red wire leading to lamp 3.Taped it up.Good as new.Got lucky.

Goes to show it pays to check everything.I was going to buy new inverter board.
