5 year old Hitachi 32" 32 UDX10s has video flicker then shuts down (video only) and audio remains on.
This happens more frequently now, almost daily.
If power turned off and back on, video is back for a while.

Is this an expensive fix?

Thanks.

Now, while I don't promote violence...

Try giving the set a hard slap and see if it reacts.
If hitting while the set's playing normally causes the set to turn off, or hitting the set while its "flickering" causes the set to work normally, you will have confirmed a bad connection or solder joint(s).

You will have to go inside set and look for loose plug-in connectors (reseat), and look at solder joints to determine if any are bad (reflow).

Will give it a try. I have knocked it a few times, but the set is very heavy and I may need to try some mild WWF moves.

Violence it is, and I hope to report back that all is well.
