If you have coolant leaking into the yoke windings you will start arcing between the yoke and the crt and will not be able to visably see the arc.
Only way to check this is to remove the yoke and clean crt and yoke - you usually can see a possible burn spot on the yoke. Sometimes this can be corrected with silicone if it has not progressed to far.

Hope this helps.

k thanks Jesse. I am gonna try that and see what happens. I'll let you know the status tomorrow....

You really need to take the 4 screws out that seal the crt to case. Buildup needs to be taken off the crt front with a razor for best pic.I have done about 50 or so of these and the only way to do it is the right way.

The buildup is an algae and is removable with denatured alcohol per philips own service literature and the alcohol also kills the algae.

Method given IS the right way per philips own service literature.

The only valid reason to replace the crt to chamber seal is if there was coolant leaking prior to repair. Then both seals should be replaced.

Jesse

PS: You may have done 50, I have done 150 and have never had a rework. Mr. Green

No reason to be sorry, I could only wish that all of the employees I have had had your attitude I would consider myself lucky.

Hi there... How long does the coolant change usually take per CRT? I plan on doing the green and blue tomorrow, and just curious about how long it will take. Im very proficient working with this tv (Magnavox 51mp392h), as i have already replaced the convergence ICs.

I was thinking it would probably be like an hour per CRT just to be safe and make sure they get cleaned properly and make sure they dont leak...
