| Ok I have a Audiovox FPE3205 LCD television. It seems that most of the inputs are screwed up. The inputs are split, Composite/RF on the left, DVI,VGA, Component on the right. All Inputs on the left apear to only have red and black in the image. The component does weird stuff, almost like all colors are there but they are messed up, like the image is inverted almost, to dark to see. After messing with it a while the DVI and VGA are now working great. Looking inside the tv I noticed that all the left inputs (RF/Composite) run into the other box of inputs which apon opening has a built in graphics processor (i assume that's what that is) on a board. the board appears in good condition. that board runs into a larger box beneath it which i believe is the main lighting for the tv. Now i did get normal colors through the component while using PIP a couple of times. Also when using the RF (Image Red on set) if i hook up the output (Same side as RF) to another tv the image is perfect colors. So what I'm thinking is maybe its the main input block with the Component/DVI/VGA? Any support would be appreciated. |

Audiovox has a very poor/almost nonexistant support system. That being said, there is one very, very common failure on ALL direct view LCD systems. Re-install the stand and operate the unit standing up. There is a small cable/harness (usually smaller than a pencil, round and black in color)that goes between the main pcb (printed circuit board) and a small pcb that is mounted on the LCD panel. The pcb that is mounted on the LCD panel is usually heavily shielded and just about all you can see is where the cable plugs in. Where it plugs in on the panel it usually has to be squeezed from both edges of the flat connector to release. While the set is running and with a known good signal, flex this cable slightly close to either end and watch the picture. if the cable is bad, remove it and clean the contacts. Use a fiberglass brush available at most radio shack stores. Under no circumstances clean this cable with either end still connected to the set. Static electricity will do damage and the cleaning process sometimes creates static. To replace this cable you will have to go the the audiovox website and find an authorized servicer if you wish to find a replacement cable. These cables are for data transfer and can, at times, cost more than they should.
I hope this helps
