someone gave me sony KDL-40XBR4

with a problem that turns off after 2 second, 13 blinks

manual said "balancer"

i took it to a tv repair shop

they told me $489 cash

DIGITAL BOARD

now since i did not buy this tv is the estimate a green light to fix it or not.

considering the prices now, well this is a 40" and is discontinued.

what you guys think

would i be able to get this board, refurbished maybe, sure i can remove one and install another one.

pay or move on?

I hate to tell you this but the 13 blinks is most likely a lamp in the panel. That means you need a new LCD panel.
