I've searched high and low for any solution to the puzzle which is this TV of mine.
Everything is fine on the TV, except there are white lines along the top section of the screen and I can't quite figure out what's causing it. I opened it up and inspected each capacitor (though I'm lacking a multimeter until I get the money to purchase such a device), and I simply can't find the problem.
Before I go out and buy every testing tool possible to fix this seemingly simple thing, are there any possible solutions that I might try? I have access to almost every capacitor imaginable and a whole box of resistors, I just can't seem to find the thing that needs replacing.
Any help is much, much appreciated.
Thank you. |

Check the electrolytics around the vertical output device. |

Thank you for your advice, and I'd be more than willing to replace and/or resolder every single cap around there, however, this is the first time I've ever repaired a TV and your professional terminology escapes my vocabulary ^^;...
I'm used to modifying guitar pedals, amplifiers, and simple circuitry... However, the instance I figure this out, I'll be set. And your information is highly, highly appreciated. |
