I have this set here with a convergence problem. I changed both the stk`s and also checked all resistors and still have problem with the red. I have read that these micom boards can go bad. Are these repairable or do they have to be replaced. Also the customer had mentioned that after awhile when the set has been on that the colors seems to get distorted and goes to like a dark negative picture. I have not seen this happen as of yet. This is the first JVC projection that I have worked on so I am not too familiar with them so any info would be greatly appreciated

If you are talking about a digital convergence assembly (the metal can
plugged into the pcb also holding the sk's) then, yes, I had a 52" model
with a bad digi board.
Most JVC parts suppliers should have a rebuilt part available, or you may
have to send your's in for rebuild/exchange.

those JVCs i believe are using hitachi chassis. because i noticed the
convergence setup process is identical to hitachi.

all the newer HDTVs, both hitachi and JVC have the exact same convergence
service setup process I noticed.

Before you suspect the DCU after changing the stk,s did you see any change
in the convergence if the answer is yes check again the resistors especially
R846 1.5 ohms, R847 150 ohms, R842 2.2 ohms, R843 220 ohms, R850 2.2ohms, R851 220 ohms, R854 1.5 ohms, R855 150 ohms, R858 3.3 OHMS, R859 220 ohms,R862 1.8 OHMS and R863 150 OHMS check connectors also make sure those stk's get warm good luck

Harry, have you checked the waveforms to the green and blu as compared to
the red? It would appear that something in it's circuit isn't being
received. Also check to make sure all the plugs and receptacles have good
connections. Capacitors OK?

The new stk`s did take out the bow at the top of the screen and the IC`s do get warm. I will recheck the resitors again. Thank you.Harry
