TX-29PS12P

Watching with set-top box http://i49.tinypic.com/2nuufc1.jpg (nothing different with Strong SRT 8114). Some technical data here http://www.tvcorner.com/en/tv-packages/serbian-croatian-bulgarian-albanian/bulsatcom/pack-bulsatcom.php#caracteristique

I can't acces the service menu probably because of the remote control. I use this http://www.remote-control-shop.eu/en/components/com_virtuemart/shop_image/product/Panasonic_EUR762_56ab2732c6bbc.jpg It is not the original and for some reason the menu button does nothing (although the TV "blinks" when pressed) and there is no Recall button or Info button.

Problem: On some channels which keep their logo on the upper left side I don't see the full logo. So that does mean something right Smile

+ when you hit a button to change channel on the set-top box you should see on the upper right side let's say 404. I see only 40 Mr. Green

P.S. HDMI to SCART converter, so the signal will go from the HDMI output of the set-top box or that means absolutely nothing?

(Be SURE to jot down original value(s) BEFORE attempting to alter. You may find out after all is said and done that 'that' defective electrolytic capacitor was causing the overscan and you then need to return that parameter to that original value).

I'd take a crosshatch test pattern, that, let's say has 7 horizontal lines and 11 vertical lines. (Or any other 'known' parameter pattern that you like).
Start by applying it to a similar TV set that you are happy with the geometry and see how that displays. Then feed it through any 'boxes' or 'converters' and see if you're still happy. Then and only then apply pattern to set you're UNhappy with.
Make sure both sets are the SAME display settings (both 16:9 for example).

can you send a better picture

I guess I need functioning Menu button on a RC to do anything

btw I am not expert. This values are best values or? I guess I only need to look to 2-3 of them about picture size problems and not touch most of the values I will see there?

Next time: Rt click on picture - click Save Image As - assign a identifier to saved image - go to saved picture and open with your favorite photo app with enlarging function.

Then you better hope that unplugging the TV from the wall removes it from Service Mode - or you'll be obtaining a remote with the correct button(s).

Now help me friends.

On the right side you see my values of the parameters.

This video played through SRT8114 shows 7,5% overscan on the left and right and 5% on top and bottom. Also about 5% overscan on another CRT. It shows OK on my PC monitor.

OK I did it.
Bravely changing hor cen, ver cen a little and hor width, ver size a lot.
The clip I am playing over the usb device shows 2,5% oversan (it was 7,5%) but I can't get it better because even as I am doing the changes I see how black parts starts to show on the sides. Something like a silent "this is the best you can do bro. Continuing shrinking is not working". Now I am seeing more. I see 404 (+ some extra space) instead of 40.

But top left corner has a slight twist on the picture.

55,7 x 41,5 is my screen size I think. with maybe 0,5 cm. black color.

I guess some changes on red green blue gain are good for the picture but I guess there are no set values.
