Yup I know, just not lucky enough to have a scope. Now I know what to ask for for Christmas
What else can I check on IC001 to isolate if it is bad? It is a pretty expensive, honkin big IC, part# MN1873265. |

Not that I know of...maybe will come back when Q001 replaced. But if not, , only yourself to blame. |

I believe this problem existed before I shorted Q001 and before replacing IC803 - remember the relay was clicking as soon as TV was plugged in without pressing power button.
Any other major pins to check on IC001 besides Pin 61, 22, 31, 62/63, 59 & 60? We know VDD, AVDD, SDA/SCL voltages are OK.
The pinout shows a bunch of other stuff such as PWM, ADIN, P07/RST, CREF, SPWM, VSS (pin 64). |

What is pin #6 (Action switch) doing? What is voltage with and without Action button pressed?
Remember set would power "on" when the power cord was plugged in? (You never stated if pix/sound was there or would come and go each time the power button was pressed).
For that to occur one of the following was true: Relay contacts were "fused" together, Q001 was shorted, IC001 was telling set to turn on as soon as set was plugged in. |

IC001 pin6 measures 86 mVDC without Action switch pressed, and 70 mVDC with switch pressed.
After the repair the TV had picture but could not hear audio (but remember I could not adjust Volume because every control button showed like Action switch was pressed)
The strange thing is the 1st time the TV was plugged it did NOT always power on by itself and DID power on with the switch, but NEVER would power off. |

| Working with surface mount parts is a real pain in the keester. I'm in the middle of replacing Q001 and the PCB land on its Base has come off. Should the Base of Q001 connect to D002? |

| Cannot locate R003--what is it near/connected to? Should anything else be connected to Q001 Base (RL801 perhaps?) |

Pin # 31 of IC001 to one end of R003. Other end of R003 to Base Q001. Period. |

| What is the value of R003? It is another tiny surface mount and needs to be replaced since it cracked. |
