HELP!!!
This set is driving me bonkers.
I cannot get the set to store my geometry adjustments once I complete them. The only manual I have for this set is a Photofact and the service mode instructions make no mention of a store settings procedure, only that service mode is exited by pressing the power button. I have already replaced the Small Signal Board and get the same results with the second board.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks,
Tom |

EXITING the SERVICE ALIGNMENT MODE (SAM)
To Save Changes and Exit:
Press the menu button on the Remote Control until you have acked-up to the
upper level SAM Menu.
Upon returning to the upper level SAM Menu, pressing the power button on the
Remote Control or the
set's own front control will cause current register settings to be saved.
The set will pause for a few
second's (while saving this data), and then both exit the SAM Mode and shut
down.
NOT: Pressing the power button, while in a sub-menu, will exit the SAM Mode
and cause the set to shut
down, but changes will NOT BE SAVED. |

Thanks Gary,
You clued me in to the problem which was that I was using an incorrect
magnavox remote and a universal remote. Neither one had a menu button that
functioned correctly. Pressing them caused the set to revert to the customer
menu. Pressing the vol up and down at the same time allowed me to return
directly to the SAM menu and the set saved the new data with no problem.
Add another grey hair to my beard. Oh well.
