just one question should i change out any other parts when i change the flyback? i am not so good at diagnosis of components, so rather than play ith them i would prefer to just change them the first time.

I dont usually unless there is a note that states otherwise. I know when you order some original flybacks, they come with some parts that should also be replaced. I'm not familiar enough with your particular model to say for sure, but I would guess not.

ok thanks for your help. I at least have the gumption to try and fix this set , the flyback is only like 40 bucks so i will give it a try. {my first time]. after discharging the crt circuit i am hoping it is not too hard to change it out. i do have soldering skill but not much experience with tv sets so this ought to be a interesting project for me. do you know if they solder in or is it just strapped in? [i noticed a wire strap? on it}. either way i should be ok and again thank you.

theres about 10 large solder joints you'll have to remove and it will come right out. Then you'll have to remove the little suction cup end on the crt with some needlenose pliers.
Not sure what you mean by wire strap

it was just a clip on the oppsite side of the focus adjustment[backside of unit] i guess it is just part of the transformer. again i am very inexperienced at this so i guess i am just a little dumb until i get in there to change it. there is no replacement for experience, if you know what i mean.
