1. Model: Samsung TX-R3079WH 30? Wide SlimFit HDTV

2. Current Symptoms: The tv keeps shutting itself on and off without showing any picture. Sometimes if I unplugged it for awhile it will come on for a few minutes but will most likely start flickering on and off again. Every once in awhile after an hour of unplugging it and plugging it in, it will stay on with no problems until I turn it off

3. Any symptoms that led up to the current symptom: I have a big purpleish blotch that appears sometimes in the top left corner and every once in awhile it would have a bunch of vertical lines that would eventually go away.

4. Location: Gufport, Mississippi

5. Any other details that may be helpful: I can't really think of anything else. I keep it plugged into a surge protector at all times and only use the tv for xbox 360.

Sounds like the R818 problem. If you can take it to a local shop that repairs in house, it's going to be around $100-150.

It's a 50 cent part if you have a qualified friend.
