|
|
I have a LC26D5U that when powered on the blue light comes on and shuts
right off. When plugged in there is a red light that blinks constantly.
Never stops except when the blue light lights. Any tips or a training
manual would be nice. I have the service manual. |

I have never seen a training manual for this model. I don't know if they
have published one.
Sharp often doesn't put error code info in their manuals. I have called
them before about this. I think you may be descriping a backlight error
indication. On a Sharp, after 5 Lamp errors, the unit will no longer power
on. Try doing a Lamp Error reset. I believe for this model, you unplug the
unit, press and hold Volume Up and Channel Down buttons while plugging unit
back in to AC power. Then try to turn unit on and see if your symptom
changes. Check for proper backlight operation if it turns on.
Have a great day! |

Thanks. Here's what I found so far. I took the back off and pushed on the
boards and it started to work. I put it on it's stand and watched it and
after about 1 hour it was back to blinking. I THINK the red light is the TV
reading something. If it can't read it it blinks. Well I took it apart,
there is a board on top of a board under 2 shields. Connectors P8301 and
P9201 were slide in connections where I pushed on the boards. I THINK one of them was dirty or something. I sprayed WD 40 in them reseated them and the set has been OK.Might be a good one to save. |

Good point Al . Thanks for letting us know the fix.
I think Sharp has many contact problems in their design , Last one I fix was a Sharp Aquos LCD with intermittent sound ( in fact was no sound after being intermittent for a few weeks when it came to shop).
The fix was to isolate the sound chip (metal cover chip) from a rear over cover (was so near it was touching that sound chip) making no sound . Putting a layer of electrical tape over isolate it and no more problem.
Another one was a Toshiba DLP with pixelate picture , again bad contact of the LVDS cable going to dlp engine , cleaning of contact make the tv perfect.
I think more and more troubles with new TVs will be from bad contacts or solders.
Just that.
The difficulty will be what to charge to the customer !! or to invent bad module faults. |
