First let me remind everyone I am working without a scope, sold almost everything after closing down the shop. This set would click 3 or 4 times after the power button is pressed, I found The HOT Q8038 shorted, C8114 & D8031/D8034 & D8035 are all good. I do not have the print so if anyone has it it is appreciated.
I cant read the part number on Q8038 it looks like it was rubbed off so the part number and a suitable sub would be appreciated. I have not had a chance to ring the fly (cant get to it till tomorrow) but does anyone know if this set has a common failure with the fly? Any other tips and info is appreciated.

Don;
Good honest forward.
One of the things I feel bad about..although I have the Test Equipment
not sure anymore...if it worth the effort to actually start a
"troubleshooting process".

My intention is..on this group...to supply all with what info I get from
Toshiba...to pass it along..and hopefully other ASC's for others will do
likewise.

I am always impressed with Hitachi's Website..a company that is willing
to admit a production problem..and willing to share it.

Toshiba Canada follows a close second..but not sure if only ASC's
are privileged to the info.

I don't think any Manufacturer expects us to troubleshoot LSI IC's and
actually getting a replacement..I chuckle.

Ed, thanks for the reply. Yeah I know it's tough to start troubleshooting without the equipment but I was forced retired due to an illness so I closed shop and sold just about everything, and just befor I closed my scope was the victim of an unfortuniate accident which only helped me make the decision to close shop, so now Im working on the side for a "used appliance" shop who also sells used tv's. Im not making a lot but at least it's milk & bread and food on the table. Eventualy the owner of the shop intends to supply the shop with better equipment (not sure if he's getting a scope or not) and he intends to join the main sight at tech-assist. So as far as it being "worth it" to me it makes no differance because the owner of the shop knows that they all wont be fixed or may be beyond fixing. He takes the gamble, I still get paid.
