I have a Sony KV27FS120 that won't turn on.
Clicks on but shuts back off. No horiz or vert are
developing from IC001 pins 50,47; all other supply volts
are present, no shorts on the outputs.
The IC seems bad but I thought before I went ahead and
changed this 80 pin SMD I'd see if anyone else had some
feedback. (IC is an M65582AMF-102FP, sony 6-804-178-01
subs to 6-806-687-01) Thanks.

Eric:
I'm interpreting from that tip that the IC probably is
bad but NLA

the original part IS no longer available, I found that out
when I looked it up to give my estimate

a second sub 6-804-937-01 also came back NLA

a third sub 6-806-687-01 is listed as available but not in
stock, Vance Baldwin listed on their web site
that it should be availabe in 9 days, but it is possible that
the ETA gets bumped back for many weeks until it
finally comes back NLA as well, I've had that happen
before with other brands and parts suppliers.

Thanks for the feedback
Gary

Someone put me on to checking the error codes, something
I overlooked at first.
The error code (4 flashes) seemed to indicate what you are
getting at below - 13v and the vert circuit.
Further checks are going to have to wait I'm afraid, I will be
out of the shop till July 9.
Rick, Thanks for the input

blinks 4x
I wasn't even paying attention to that before
I checked a sim manual I have in stock (KV27FS100)
and it lists an I-PROT fault
13v not supplied
IC545 faulty

Is that what you have?

Thanks for the wake up,
Gary

I have fix 3 of those FS series, on 2 of them replacing the 18 pins IC
on power supply. fix the sets, on the third one the only thing that
makes the set stay on, was shorting c/e of the on/off rely drive
transistor. hope this help.
