My sony TV model number in the subject, turns itself on and goes to channel 129. It does this any time of the day. I have Erased any preset recordings and any other function that may cause this.
Anybody have any answers? :?:

First make sure there isn't a setting on this TV model to wake up from Alarm, and you can set it for whatever channel you want. I may be mistaken, but please check first.

Does it do it right away the moment it is plugged in, or does it do this randomly?

It does not happen when the set is plugged into the power. This only happens randomly. I have checked all the auto turn on fuctions and made sure that there is not ant programmed turn on functions.

Well, just to eliminate one more possibility. Try putting some electrical tape over the Infra Red Sensor and see if it is still happening. I've seen this happen with laptops in the room or various toys and other things.

I just want to make to eliminate all the external possibilities before we dive into the electronics.
