I have a Sony KV27FS12, Chassis No. SCC-S40D-A. The problem is that it will not turn on. The relay clicks and after a few seconds it clicks again and the Standby/Timer LED blinks 4 times, pauses and blinks 4 times continuously. I replaced the IC502 which didn't help. I also replaced the HOT with no results. Something is dragging down the voltages. The voltage readings are as follows:
200v = 80
135v = 60
+13v = 2
_13v = -.1
+12v = 2
I downloaded a service manual, but the schematics are so small I cannot read them.
Can you steer me in the right direction to find my problem. |

Thanks Silv
D504 checks ok. I don't have any way to check the flyback except with an ohmmeter. Is there any simple was to do that? I'm sorry to show my ignorance but my electronics training was when everything used vacuum tubes.

Whats your voltage out of the smps measuring?
I'd suspect bad diodes/rectifiers if all your voltages are low like that. |

kuhurdler,
Thanks for your input. I'm not sure what you mean by the 'smps' voltage output but the voltage across the bridge rectifier D622 is 163 volts. It drops to 161 volts when you try to turn on the TV.
The schematic was part of the download of the service manual. I will try to see if I can separate that page out and email it to you. |

kuhurdler & silv,
Thanks for your help. I finally got this set back going. Replaced the T505 flyback which was shorted internally, Q502 HOT, IC502 V out, D513 -13 volt rectifier which was shorted, R549 .47ohm protective resistor in the -13 volt rectifier circuit which was open. In the process I replaced the IC603 9v regulator but don't believe that it was bad, I was just chasing rabbits.
Thanks again. |
