Would anyone have any info on this set, Toshiba 27AF41 Chassis TAC0114. It shuts down as soon as power switch is pressed. Red LED blinks indefinite, no code just keeps blinking. Any info/help is appreciated.

Check C527 2200uf-16v and flyback might be bad.

Don, Check you HV, if its about 8KV at turn on before it shuts down, You have a bad Flyback P/n TFB4166BH Or HR80048. The Original P.n is 23236645 New # is 23236718.

Also check for smoking R216 (22k 1/8 watt) Near Q Or IC 501. It ties to pin 11 of the IC ABL. Also check for smoking resistor Marked G403 near The Flyback On the very corner (22k 1/2 watt)

Im not sure how to use this but some time ago I got a Dick_Smith Fly tester as a gift, It shows pin one with 8 rings which is good, and Im not sure If Im suppose to check all the other pins (except ground) but they show short. If memory serves I dont think Im supposed to get that, if anything they should test nothing. Can anyone confirm? Also I dont see an R216 near Q501 and the resistor near the fly G403 shows good. I cant test the HV at this time. But it's starting to look that way!

Don, Look real good and you will fine R216. Very small resistor easy to overlook. And yes your flyback probably is bad. That is a very common problem on that set.
