I was given this TV under the impression that it wasn't too far from working. I'm handy with a schematic, a volt meter and a soldering iron. Where should I start in repairing this vertical problem? I've been told replacing the "vertical capacitors" is a good place to start. Where would I find them?

THe vertical chip is the one on the heatsink right behind your tuner. the caps that are surrounding that heatsink are the ones I would replace.
