Hi great tech's I have a 36 " Toshiba with the HOT shorted it is a 2SD2253 and I don't have a direct replacement. Has anyone used any different type for a replacement? I have several other types 2SD1555,1554, 2SC5902, 2SD1878. Any of these do the job? Thanks have a nice weekend.

Terry, The 2sd2253 is for high resolution so you may want to try and find
somthing of the same.

Good Luck

I checked the web and this xstr is a triple diffused type and it has very
high voltage (1700) but the set doesn't have a damper diode in the HOT. So
maybe I can use something else even if I have to use one that needs an
insulator. What do you think guys? H-A-N-D. [have a nice evening]

Yes John I figured that would probably be the proper thing to do but most of
the parts suppliers want a fairly large order before they will ship
anything. Just a thought that maybe someone may have tried and found a
satisfactory replacement. I have some monitor hi-def. types but they require
an insulator, I guess I'll have a look at the parameters of the one I have
to see if it may be ok. Thanks John for the come-back.

Terry;
On this one....better use an OEM. It will come back to "bite" you.

John that 2SC5902 worked just fine in that Toshiba. I wasn't sure I stated
that to everyone. A bit late with the news but better than never I guess.
Have a great egening.
