I have a Vizio VW42L. It is a 42" LCD. It strobes (literally think strobe light).
The picture comes through for any source, its just that the picture is strobing.
I've looked into this. I was told that the power supply may be bad and a new one would alleviate the problem. It didn't.
I then looked online for the strobing problem. It seems that it is the inverter or backlight.
Does anyone have any insight into this? I'm fine replacing the inverter (if that's what it is) but replacing the backlight might be out of my league. Could it also be the logic board? I'm thinking not but...
Another question; whats the difference between a master and slave inverter? If the slave fails does the master take over?
Thanks a lot guys.
