Specifications
TV make: Vizio 37" FP
Model: VX37L HDTV10A
Chassis: 1712-0101-1130 / 1712-0101-1140 (I think these are the chassis numbers)
Background
Friday: I replaced the MainBoard with a refurbished one and it looked great!
Problem
Saturday: It turned on Ok 1 time in the morning. Later in the day I turned it on and the picture was extremely blotchy / fuzzy.
After about 15-20 minutes the picture restored and looked great, like Friday.
Today: Every time the unit is turned on, it looks like the above pic.
I noticed it has green, blue, & pink vertical lines if the cable box is turned off.
What have I tried already?
I tried "Restore All Settings" and tried pulling the power cable out for a few minutes - no change.
Is this a bad MainBoard? The problem is present on every input, so it doesn't seem like an external signal issue. I would like to exchange the MainBoard since it is refurbished (maybe the next one won't do this). The TV is not under warranty so I wanted to get some more opinions. Thank you in advance for your insight. |

Let's go back. Way back. BEFORE Friday.
What was the reason(s) (symptom) that a refurbished replacement MainBoard was obtained and replaced?
There's only one thing worse than a "pulled from service" board ... a "refurbished" board. |

I get confused quite easily as I get ancient...
Myself, I would have kept the same thread going.
Always give the set at least two shakedown runs before proclaiming victory.
My opinion (then and now) is still the main board. |

I agree with you JTS1957, it could have been appended to the other thread. But I started a new one since this seemed like a different issue, IMHO. The other thread's title is different than this issue - the term "topic centric" comes to mind...
Thanks for the replies JTS1957. I will post what turns out with the replaced MainBoard. |

Poorly seated or oxidized ends of the LVDS cable can cause this symptom.
